What it does

This skill is an installer for NanoClaw, a personal agent framework. Once applied, the agent can read and reply to comments on pull requests and issues in the GitHub repos you choose, with each PR or issue thread treated as its own conversation. It works by copying a GitHub adapter from the project's channels branch, installing a pinned npm package, adding a webhook and a bot account, and storing the access token in a local .env file.

Great for

  • Developers who run NanoClaw and want their agent to answer comments in their own GitHub repos
  • Small teams that want a dedicated bot account to triage or respond to issues and PRs

Skip it if

  • People who just want a GitHub assistant without running NanoClaw: the skill only works inside that framework and needs a running service
  • Public repos with open commenting when using the default-style setup: a stranger's comment could trigger agent work unless the 'strict' membership policy is chosen, which uses agent resources and may expose data

Try asking

  • “Set up the GitHub channel for my NanoClaw agent on acme/backend”
  • “Wire my GitHub bot to respond to @-mentions in our private repos”
  • “Add GitHub as a channel with strict mode so only registered members can trigger the agent”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    add-github.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip add-github.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip add-github.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Use a separate bot account and a fine-grained token limited to only the repos you need, and a random webhook secret.
  • Choose 'strict' for public repos and add trusted collaborators as members; use 'public' only for private repos where only collaborators can comment.
  • Run the skill's build and test steps after applying; the included test checks the adapter is registered and the dependency is installed.
