Should I remove stop words from slugs?
Often yes: shorter slugs like /best-guide-seo are easier to read and share. Keep them when removing changes the meaning, e.g. “to-be-or-not-to-be”.
What maximum length is best?
There is no hard limit, but 3–6 words (roughly 60 characters or less) keeps URLs readable in search results.
Hyphens or underscores?
Use hyphens. Google treats hyphens as word separators, while underscores join words together.
