What it does
This is a set of instructions that teaches DeepTutor's chat agent how to help a user write a new skill, which is a reusable playbook the agent loads only when relevant. The agent asks at most one short question, then drafts a skill with a clear name and trigger description, step-by-step instructions, and optional reference files. The draft is shown as a card for the user to edit or confirm, and nothing is saved automatically.
Great for
- Users of DeepTutor who want to turn a repeated workflow into a reusable skill
- Developers building custom agent behaviours who want a structured drafting process
- Non-experts who want the agent to propose a skill structure from a plain-language description
Skip it if
- Setting a tone or personality, such as always answering like a strict tutor; the skill file says this belongs to a Persona, not a Skill, and the agent is told not to force it into a skill
- Users who need a skill saved automatically, because the drafting step only produces a preview card and the user must confirm it
Try asking
- “Create a skill that walks me through checking my homework answers step by step”
- “Make a skill for writing lab reports in the format my course requires”
- “Draft a skill that summarises research papers using a fixed template”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Describe the workflow you want in concrete terms, including example inputs and expected outputs, so the draft needs fewer revisions.
- Review the proposed description carefully, since it is the trigger that decides when the skill is used later.
- Ask the agent to move long reference material into separate reference files to keep the main instructions short.
