What it does

When you ask the agent to set up something only a human can do, such as creating API keys in a third-party dashboard, configuring CI secrets, or running a one-off migration, this skill makes the agent write a small interactive bash script. The script opens each web page, tells you exactly what to click and copy, hides secret input, saves values to .env or GitHub secrets, and asks for confirmation before each stage. Its library code comes from a template file, and the agent authors only the steps specific to your project.

Great for

  • Developers setting up a project's .env file, API keys, or GitHub Actions secrets for the first time
  • Teams who want a repeatable onboarding script instead of re-explaining setup to an AI each time
  • People running a one-off migration or cutover who want a checked, step-by-step procedure

Skip it if

  • Steps the agent can do itself, such as editing code or running commands, since the skill says not to use it for those
  • Situations where you want the agent to fully automate setup without a human present, because the generated script blocks on human input and opens browsers
  • Handling production credentials on a shared machine, since the script writes secret values to local files and may set GitHub secrets

Try asking

  • “Set up the API keys and webhook secrets this project needs and write them to .env and GitHub secrets”
  • “Walk me through creating a Stripe test key and wiring it into our CI workflow”
  • “Create a wizard to guide me through cutting over our DNS and database to the new host”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    wizard.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip wizard.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip wizard.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Review the list of stages and captured values the agent proposes before it writes the script, and remove any you don't want.
  • Keep the generated script out of version control unless you want a repeatable setup path committed to the repo.
  • Read the script before running it, since it will open URLs and may write secrets to .env and GitHub.
