What it does

This skill gives the agent a structured playbook for estimating what a company is worth. Once installed, when asked to value a stock, the agent follows defined methods such as discounted cash flow (DCF), dividend discount models (DDM), sum-of-the-parts (SOTP), and relative multiples like PE band, PB-ROE and EV/EBITDA. It also runs sensitivity tables and checks for common valuation traps such as one-off gains, goodwill risk and share dilution. It is written with China A-share reference ranges.

Great for

  • Investors or analysts who want a consistent first-pass valuation of a listed company
  • Students learning corporate valuation methods and their trade-offs
  • Anyone reviewing an investment thesis for hidden valuation traps

Skip it if

  • Making actual trading decisions without independent research, since the reference ranges and example figures are generic and may be outdated (the skill is an analytical framework, not a source of market data or advice)
  • Valuing companies outside the China A-share market without adjusting the reference WACC and multiple ranges, which are calibrated to that market

Try asking

  • “Value this company using a DCF with sensitivity analysis on WACC and terminal growth”
  • “Which valuation method fits a high-dividend bank, and how would I apply DDM to it?”
  • “Check this stock's PE against its 5-year percentile band and tell me if it looks cheap”
  • “Scan this annual report for valuation traps like one-off gains, goodwill and related-party transactions”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    valuation-model.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip valuation-model.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip valuation-model.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Supply the company's financial data (revenue, EBIT, FCF, share count, historical PE series) in the request, since the skill provides method, not data
  • Ask for the sensitivity table and trap checklist together so the valuation is stress-tested rather than a single point estimate
  • Verify any reference ranges (risk-free rate, beta, industry multiples) against current market data before relying on the output
