What it does
When installed, the agent can take your uncommitted changes, a feature branch, or a pull request and check them against a saved map of your codebase (a knowledge graph built earlier by the companion /understand command). It then reports which components changed, what else depends on them, which architectural layers are touched, and a rough risk level, so you know where to review carefully. It also writes a small diff file that the companion dashboard can use to highlight changed areas.
Great for
- Developers reviewing a large feature branch or pull request who want to see the blast radius before merging
- Teams in a monorepo or large codebase that already ran /understand and want change-impact summaries
- Reviewers checking which architectural layers a change touches
Skip it if
- Projects that have not been analysed with /understand yet, since the skill stops and asks you to build the graph first
- Small one-line fixes where a plain git diff review is faster and the graph may be out of date; a stale graph can miss recent changes
- Security audits or definitive risk sign-off, because the risk rating is a heuristic based on node complexity and edge counts, not a verified review
Try asking
- “Analyze the changes on my current feature branch against main and tell me what might break”
- “Review PR #123 and list the components it affects and the layers it touches”
- “What are the risks in my uncommitted changes? Which dependencies should I double-check?”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run /understand to refresh the graph after significant code changes, otherwise the analysis may miss recent edits; the skill will warn you when it detects drift.
- Name the base branch explicitly (for example main or develop) if your default differs, so the comparison is correct.
- Treat the risk rating as a starting point for review, and check the listed affected components yourself before merging.
