What it does
Once installed, the agent knows how to manage a Twilio account for text messaging: finding and buying US phone numbers, listing numbers you already own, marking numbers to keep, sending SMS messages, and checking the status of inbound and outbound texts. It follows a set of safety rules, such as never printing account secrets or message bodies unless you asked to read them, and it checks credentials before any purchase or send.
Great for
- Developers who run SMS notifications or two-way texting through Twilio and want the agent to handle routine number and message tasks
- Operators who need to check whether a number received or sent texts and what their delivery status is
Skip it if
- Anyone who wants the agent to release or delete numbers: the skill says not to unless explicitly asked, but a mistaken purchase or send still costs money and reaches real people
- Teams without a Twilio account or without a 1Password setup: the credential routing assumes both and will not work otherwise
Try asking
- “Search for available US local phone numbers that support SMS and voice, and show me five options”
- “List all the phone numbers on my Twilio account with their capabilities”
- “Send a text from my Twilio number to +15555550100 saying the order has shipped”
- “Check the delivery status of message SM123 and show recent outbound messages from my number”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Set up a Twilio profile once and keep credentials in 1Password rather than in plain files; the skill is written to avoid printing secrets but you should still review its commands before approving them
- Ask for a specific country, count and capability set when searching numbers to keep results and spending narrow, and confirm before any purchase
- Remember that trial accounts can only text verified recipients and that US texts may need A2P/10DLC registration, so test with your own number first
