What it does

When a user explicitly asks for a transcript of an AI coding session, this skill tells the agent to find the relevant local session log, render it to Markdown with a bundled helper script, and then manually trim it to the task-relevant parts, removing system prompts, reasoning, raw tool output, local paths, credentials and auth URLs. The agent shows the trimmed result for review and only inserts it into a GitHub PR or issue when the user has clearly authorized publishing that transcript to that specific place.

Great for

  • Maintainers who want a reviewed, condensed record of how a PR was produced attached to the PR or issue
  • Developers using Codex, Claude, Pi or OpenClaw logs who need to share a session safely
  • Teams that require human review of anything published from agent sessions

Skip it if

  • Routine PR work: the skill is designed to stay out of ordinary PR creation unless a transcript is explicitly requested, and automatic posting would risk leaking sensitive session content
  • Public repositories where session logs may contain secrets that the trimming step misses, since the skill itself says helper redaction is not sufficient disclosure review
  • Users who cannot inspect the rendered Markdown before publication

Try asking

  • “Find my recent Codex session for this PR and show me a trimmed transcript preview before posting it”
  • “Render the session JSONL for this branch to Markdown and trim it to the task-relevant turns”
  • “Replace the existing transcript section in PR #123 with the approved trimmed version”
  • “Build an HTML preview of the trimmed transcript for me to review”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Agent Transcript PublisherInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    agent-transcript.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip agent-transcript.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip agent-transcript.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Explicitly name the PR or issue and state that publishing is authorized, otherwise the agent will show the preview and ask first
  • Read the trimmed Markdown yourself before approving; do not rely on the helper's preview or HTML modes, which re-render untrimmed sessions
  • Use --since-days and --max-files to narrow session discovery to the right work
