What it does

When you have several git branches, worktrees, or open pull requests with overlapping work, this skill has the agent set up a shared markdown chat room. Each branch is represented by its own agent that reads the room, reports its real state, and argues for how it should be combined. The facilitator runs the discussion in rounds, then writes a summary and a merge order, and asks you to decide the open questions. The room itself is read-only; the actual merges are left to a separate /do step.

Great for

  • Developers with several parallel worktrees or feature branches that touch the same code
  • Teams reviewing multiple open PRs that need to be consolidated into one branch
  • Anyone who wants a structured comparison of branch changes before merging

Skip it if

  • Single-branch projects or simple one-PR reviews, where the chat overhead adds nothing (the skill itself stops when there are fewer than two candidates)
  • Repositories where you are not comfortable with AI agents running shell commands and reading local git history, since the skill executes scripts and spawns multiple agents
  • Situations needing real merges done automatically: the skill is explicitly read-only and defers merging to /do

Try asking

  • “Standup across my worktrees active in the last 24 hours and plan how to consolidate them”
  • “Compare my open PRs with my local branches and tell me which one should be the target”
  • “Run a standup on feature/auth and feature/login-ui and propose a merge order”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    standup.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip standup.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip standup.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Pick a time window such as 24h or 7d so only recently active worktrees join the room, keeping the discussion focused
  • Read the final summary and answer the decision questions yourself before running /do, since the agents can disagree or be wrong about code they only partly read
  • Check the generated STANDUP.md in ~/.claude-mem before merging anything, as it records every agent's claims
