What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent a specific trading-analysis method called Smart Money Concepts (also called ICT). It looks at price charts for structure breaks (BOS, ChoCH), fair value gaps (FVG) and order blocks, then produces a simple signal: 1 for long, -1 for short, or 0 to stand aside. It relies on the smartmoneyconcepts Python library and includes an example engine that can download OKX crypto candle data and compute signals from it.
Great for
- Traders or quant hobbyists who already use or want to study ICT-style price-action analysis
- Developers building backtests or research prototypes around SMC signals
- Students learning how institutional-style market structure concepts are coded
Skip it if
- Making real trading decisions with money: the signals are a rule-based sketch with no evidence of profitability, and markets can lose money quickly
- Users who expect investment advice: the skill gives no risk management, position sizing or performance validation
- Environments where the agent may run the script on untrusted data or with live exchange credentials, since it executes Python and makes outbound web requests
Try asking
- “Explain what a Change of Character and a Fair Value Gap mean, using the SMC method”
- “Run the SMC signal engine on BTC-USDT daily candles and tell me whether the signal is long, short or stand aside”
- “Backtest SMC signals with swing_length set to 5 and 20 and compare the results”
- “Summarise how order blocks are defined in the reference notes”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Review example_signal_engine.py before running it, and treat the output as a research input rather than a trade instruction
- Test parameters such as swing_length and close_break on historical data and check results out of sample before relying on them
- Ask the agent to explain the reasoning behind each signal so you can check it against the reference notes
