What it does

When a buyer sends a formal request for proposal, questionnaire, or RFQ, this skill helps the agent break the document into requirements, tag each as mandatory, weighted, or nice-to-have, and match each one to a verifiable proof point (STRONG, PARTIAL, or GAP). It proposes a few win-themes and gives a rough winrate estimate with a bid, partner-bid, or no-bid suggestion. It is designed to flag gaps explicitly rather than invent claims.

Great for

  • Bid managers and proposal leads deciding whether to pursue an RFP
  • Sales engineers mapping an existing proof-point library to buyer requirements
  • Teams triaging security or vendor questionnaires into structured answers

Skip it if

  • Free-form proposal narrative writing, which the skill says it does not cover; the winrate figure is a directional heuristic, not a forecast, so it should not be used as the sole basis for a pursuit decision
  • Post-award contract redlines or marketing collateral, which are out of scope

Try asking

  • “Parse this RFP and tag each requirement as mandatory, weighted, or nice-to-have”
  • “Build a proof-point matrix for these security questionnaire items and list the GAPs”
  • “Suggest three win-themes for this RFP based on the scoring criteria”
  • “Estimate our winrate and give a bid / partner-bid / no-bid recommendation”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 8 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    rfp-responder.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip rfp-responder.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip rfp-responder.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Fill in the intake template with real, verifiable sources (case studies, certifications, references) before running the matrix, since unsourced claims become GAPs.
  • Treat the winrate estimate and the verdict as discussion prompts for leadership, not as a decision; the scripts use hand-set weights.
  • Review the parsed requirement tags, since the parser relies on keyword cues like must, should, and may and can misclassify items.
