What it does

Once installed, the agent can guide a team through a sprint retrospective using one of three common formats (Start/Stop/Continue, 4Ls, or Sailboat). It can group raw feedback such as sticky notes or survey answers into themes, review sprint performance against the goal and commitment, and propose a short list of action items with owners, deadlines and success measures. It then writes a markdown summary of the retro, including carry-over from the previous retro.

Great for

  • Scrum teams or agile groups that run sprint retrospectives and want consistent structure
  • Team leads or agile coaches who need help facilitating and summarizing a retro
  • People learning how to run effective retrospectives

Skip it if

  • Teams not working in sprints or iterations, since the workflow assumes sprint goals and velocity data (the output would be less relevant)
  • Situations needing anonymous or sensitive HR feedback, because the skill sends team comments through the AI model and does not address confidentiality

Try asking

  • “Run a Start/Stop/Continue retro for our sprint 14 team”
  • “Group these sticky-note comments from our retro into themes and sentiment”
  • “Create three action items with owners and deadlines from our retro discussion”
  • “Write a markdown retro summary including carry-over from last retro's actions”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Sprint Retrospective FacilitatorInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    retro.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip retro.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip retro.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Paste or attach raw team feedback, sprint data and previous retro notes so the agent can analyze real evidence rather than generic prompts.
  • Name the sprint and team in your request (the skill uses it as the retro subject) and say which format you prefer.
  • Review the generated owners and deadlines yourself, since the agent cannot know who is available and will only propose them.
