What it does

Once installed, when you type /qc-helper followed by a question, the agent looks up the matching page in the bundled Qwen Code documentation and answers from it, instead of guessing. It can also read your Qwen Code settings file and make changes you ask for, such as switching the approval mode. It is a helper for learning and configuring the Qwen Code tool itself.

Great for

  • People new to Qwen Code who want setup and feature answers
  • Developers configuring MCP servers, approval modes, hooks or model providers
  • Anyone troubleshooting Qwen Code who wants answers grounded in the official docs

Skip it if

  • Questions about other AI coding tools, since it only knows Qwen Code docs
  • Editing settings.json without checking changes, because it can change approval or security settings (the reason: a wrong setting may make the agent act without asking)

Try asking

  • “/qc-helper how do I configure MCP servers?”
  • “/qc-helper change approval mode to yolo”
  • “/qc-helper why is my sandbox not starting?”
  • “/qc-helper what does auto mode do?”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Qwen Code HelperInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    qc-helper.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip qc-helper.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip qc-helper.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Ask a specific question so the helper loads only the relevant doc.
  • Review any settings.json change it proposes, especially approval mode, before accepting it.
  • Check the docs/ files directly if an answer seems out of date.
