What it does
When you ask the agent to fix a bug from a GitHub issue, this skill makes it follow a fixed sequence: download the issue with the GitHub CLI into a local markdown file, have a separate test-engineer agent reproduce the bug first, make a code fix, rebuild and have the test engineer verify it, add or run tests, then self-audit and review the diff. It is written for the Qwen Code project and its paths, commands and sub-agents, so it is most useful inside that repository.
Great for
- Developers contributing to the Qwen Code repository who want a consistent reproduce-first bugfix process
- Maintainers triaging user-reported bugs who want a documented, repeatable workflow
- Teams using Qwen Code's sub-agents (test-engineer) and slash commands such as /review
Skip it if
- Projects other than Qwen Code: it assumes this repo's npm scripts, dist/cli.js, AGENTS.md and test-engineer agent, so it will need rewriting elsewhere
- Quick one-line fixes: the workflow is heavy and the skill itself says a trivial fix can skip the review step
- Unattended bug fixing on code you have not reviewed: it runs shell commands, writes files and loops on fixes, so a human should check the diff and the issue data
Try asking
- “Fix the bug described in GitHub issue #1234”
- “Investigate this GitHub issue URL and fix the problem if it reproduces”
- “Debug the user-reported crash in issue 567 following the reproduce-first workflow”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the issue number or full URL so the skill can fetch it with gh; make sure gh is logged in first
- Check the generated .qwen/issues/ file and the final diff yourself, since the agent writes files and runs builds and tests
- Expect up to three loops between fixing and reviewing; if it stalls, answer the agent's question instead of letting it continue
