What it does
When you ask for a new or updated workplace policy (such as remote work, parental leave or PTO), the agent drafts one core policy written in plain language, then adds short supplements for each state where your company's legal rules differ. It also flags where the law is changing and notes conflicts with your existing handbook. The output is a draft for a lawyer to review, not a policy ready to publish.
Great for
- In-house legal or HR teams drafting or updating handbook policies across several states
- Employment counsel who want a first draft with jurisdictional variants to edit
- Small HR teams that need a structured starting point for a policy gap
Skip it if
- Publishing policies directly without attorney review, since handbook promises can be treated as binding contracts in some states
- Jurisdictions outside the company's configured footprint, because the skill only checks the locations listed in its context file
- Legal advice on specific disputes or current law, since the skill relies on the model's general knowledge and the user's configuration rather than live legal research
Try asking
- “Draft a remote work policy covering our California, Texas and New York employees”
- “We need a policy on parental leave; update the state supplements for our footprint”
- “Update our PTO policy to reflect current paid leave rules in Colorado and Washington”
- “Draft an expense reimbursement policy and flag where California requires it”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Fill in your jurisdictional footprint and handbook location in the employment-legal CLAUDE.md before running, or the skill cannot scope the states correctly.
- Give the topic, the reason it is needed now, and which employees it covers, since the skill asks these questions in its scoping step.
- Have an attorney verify each state supplement and the 'law currently shifting' notes against current statutes before any rollout.
