What it does
Adds a helper for building plugins for the Atlas Agent. When asked to create a plugin, the agent runs bundled Python scripts that generate a standard folder with a plugin.json manifest, optionally add companion folders (skills, hooks, scripts, assets, MCP and app config), register the plugin in a marketplace.json file so it shows up in the app's list, and validate the result. It can also bump a local plugin's version with a cachebuster suffix so changes reinstall during development.
Great for
- Developers building personal or team plugins for Atlas Agent
- Teams that keep a shared repo marketplace and need consistent plugin scaffolds
Skip it if
- Users who are not building Atlas Agent plugins, since it only applies to that plugin format
- Editing an existing marketplace.json by hand without checking the script output, because the scripts write to user files and an incorrect --force or path can overwrite an existing marketplace entry
Try asking
- “Create a new Atlas plugin called Invoice Tools and add it to my personal marketplace”
- “Scaffold a plugin with skills and scripts folders in ~/plugins”
- “Validate the plugin I just generated before I reinstall it”
- “Bump the cachebuster on my local plugin so Atlas picks up my changes”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Review the generated plugin.json and marketplace.json before reinstalling, since the scripts write directly to your home directory.
- Use the default personal marketplace unless you specifically need a repo or team marketplace, and avoid --force unless you mean to replace an entry.
