What it does
Once installed, the agent reviews marketing copy such as landing pages, emails, ads and taglines. It pulls out each claim, labels it as puffery, factual, comparative, implied or absolute, and checks what proof would be needed to support it. For claims that carry risk, it suggests a fix or a softer rewrite so the marketing keeps its energy without inviting a competitor's demand letter or a regulator's inquiry. The skill also tells the agent to look up current advertising standards and to mark anything it cannot verify for attorney review.
Great for
- In-house or marketing teams who want a first-pass check of copy before legal review
- Product marketers writing comparative or performance claims such as 'faster than' or 'saves X hours'
- Lawyers who want a claim-by-claim structured starting point
Skip it if
- Final legal sign-off: the skill's own text says unverified standards must be checked by an attorney, and its citations are partly from model memory (flagged for verification), so it should not replace legal review (reason: accuracy risk).
- Regulated health, financial or children's products without a specialist reviewer: the skill mentions sector rules but the file does not contain them (reason: missing sector-specific rules).
- Copy with endorsements or influencer content, unless the skill's endorsement-related steps are reviewed separately (reason: the file only refers to these rules conditionally).
Try asking
- “Review this marketing copy for claims that need substantiation: [paste landing page]”
- “Check these claims: 'Trusted by 10,000 companies' and 'Saves 5 hours per week'”
- “Can we say this? 'The best project tool on the market'”
- “Is this puffery or a problem? [paste tagline and ad copy]”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Load your company's marketing claims standards into the CLAUDE.md file first, since the skill relies on them for substantiation thresholds.
- Include the substantiation you already have on file (studies, benchmarks, customer counts) so the agent can compare it against each claim.
- Treat the citations as leads: the skill tags most of them [verify] or [verify-pinpoint], so check them against primary sources before relying on them.
