What it does
Once installed, when you give the agent a book title, a PDF, an EPUB or an excerpt, it writes a long-form explanation of what the book actually argues or shows, how its main threads connect, and how its evidence or events change the reader's understanding, usually saved as a Markdown note. It is designed so a reader who never opened the book can follow the book's specific content rather than receiving a generic lesson.
Great for
- Readers who want a structured, book-specific overview before or instead of reading a long book
- Students or readers who want to see how a book's parts depend on each other
- People who keep reading notes in Markdown and want consistent note files
Skip it if
- Chapter-by-chapter summaries, formal reviews or academic paper analysis, which the skill explicitly excludes
- Books you cannot legally access as a file: the skill works from the provided text and reference material, so results depend on the source you supply
- Anyone expecting a verified factual summary: the skill's own notes say source accuracy is checked separately and the validator does not prove accuracy
Try asking
- “拆书:《百年孤独》”
- “Explain what this book is about and how its main threads connect: [attach PDF]”
- “这本书在讲什么?[paste excerpt]”
- “压缩一本书,保存为 Markdown 笔记”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Provide the actual file or excerpt rather than just a title, since the skill is meant to work from the source text
- Run the bundled validator afterwards, but remember it only checks structure and records, not reading quality or factual accuracy
- Review the saved note against the original yourself, because the skill does not verify facts against the book
