What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent how to work with Feishu/Lark instant messaging through the lark-cli command-line tool. Once installed, the agent can send and reply to messages, search chat history, download files and images from chats, manage group members, create group or topic chats, and build interactive cards with buttons and forms. It also explains the rules for identity (acting as a user or as a bot), so the agent knows which permissions apply.

Great for

  • Teams that run daily work in Lark/Feishu and want an agent to draft, send or search chat messages
  • Developers building bots or automations that post interactive cards and handle button callbacks
  • Admins who need an agent to look up group members or chat history under proper permissions

Skip it if

  • Users who do not use Lark/Feishu, since the skill only talks to that platform
  • Sending messages on a user's behalf without review, because the agent may post real messages to colleagues or groups that cannot be undone
  • Anyone without lark-cli installed and authorised, since the skill depends on it and on a separate shared authentication guide not included in these files

Try asking

  • “Send a reminder message to the project group chat saying the release is at 5pm”
  • “Search the chat history for messages mentioning 'invoice' from last week and summarise them”
  • “Download the files attached to a specific message in a group”
  • “Create an interactive card with approve and reject buttons and send it to my team”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Lark Instant MessagingInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 15 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    lark-im.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip lark-im.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip lark-im.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Ask for a draft or preview of a card or message before sending, since sends are visible to other people
  • Use the CLI-returned share and app links rather than building links by hand
  • Check that the bot or user is a member of the target chat, because access depends on membership
