What it does

Once installed, the agent keeps a personal wiki in a knowledge/ folder inside its workspace. When you share an article or document, it summarises the key points into a markdown page, files it under a category, and records it in an index and a log. It can also save insights from a conversation and link related pages together, so later you can ask questions and get answers that cite the stored pages.

Great for

  • People who want an AI assistant to remember and organise articles or research over time
  • Students or researchers collecting notes from many sources into one linked collection
  • Users of the CowAgent assistant who want a persistent, browsable knowledge store

Skip it if

  • Sensitive or confidential documents, because the content is saved as plain files in the agent's workspace and the skill does not describe any encryption or access control
  • Anyone expecting a fully verified source of truth, since the agent writes its own summaries which can be inaccurate or omit context

Try asking

  • “Here is an article about vector databases, please add it to my knowledge wiki”
  • “Save the key takeaways from our conversation about budgeting as a knowledge page”
  • “What does my knowledge base say about machine learning? Include links to the pages”
  • “Show me the categories in my knowledge index”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Knowledge WikiInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    knowledge-wiki.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip knowledge-wiki.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip knowledge-wiki.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the agent a source URL or document name when sharing material so the Source line is filled in correctly
  • Review knowledge/index.md periodically, since the agent updates it automatically and category choices may need tidying
  • Ask for answers with cited pages so you can check the stored summaries against the originals
