What it does

This skill lets an agent turn your claude-mem observation history (notes the memory tool recorded about past work) into named, filtered collections called corpora. You can filter by project, observation type, concept tags, file paths, search query, or date range. The agent then loads a corpus into a dedicated AI session and answers follow-up questions from it, so you can ask things like what was decided about hooks or what bugfixes touched the worker service.

Great for

  • Developers who use claude-mem and want to review their own past decisions and bugfixes on a topic
  • Teams or individuals who want a focused reference built from their project's history instead of searching everything
  • Anyone compiling expertise on one specific area of a long-running project

Skip it if

  • People who do not already use claude-mem, since the skill only works on its observation history and has no data of its own
  • Situations needing authoritative or up-to-date facts from outside the project, because answers come only from recorded observations that may be stale or incomplete
  • Projects with confidential observations where priming a corpus sends that history into an AI session, which may be an external service, without reviewing what is included

Try asking

  • “Build a corpus called hooks-expertise from observations tagged with the hooks concept, then ask how the lifecycle hooks work”
  • “Create a corpus of all decisions from the last month and query it for the main architectural trade-offs”
  • “Rebuild the worker-service bugfix corpus after new observations were added, then reprime it and ask what recurring failures appear”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Knowledge AgentInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    knowledge-agent.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip knowledge-agent.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip knowledge-agent.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Keep corpora narrow, such as one concept or one month, since focused corpora give better answers than everything at once
  • Prime once and query many times, and reprime if the conversation drifts off topic
  • Rebuild and then reprime after adding new observations, because priming does not pick up changes on its own
