What it does

Once installed, the agent can take a topic you give it and expand it into a list of related search terms, then pull real monthly search volume, cost-per-click and trend data for them through a connected Ryze MCP service. It can also check your Google Search Console data to see which keywords your site already ranks for, and then groups everything into content clusters with a suggested order of what to write or optimize first.

Great for

  • SEO specialists or content marketers planning a blog or site content calendar
  • Small business owners who want to know which search terms are worth targeting
  • Teams that want keyword data tied to what their site already ranks for

Skip it if

  • Anyone without a Ryze connector set up, since the skill depends on it for its data, and the connector is a third-party service
  • Projects needing guaranteed-accurate volumes for financial decisions, because the skill's figures come from third-party planner data and are estimates

Try asking

  • “Find keywords for a sustainable running shoes blog”
  • “Keyword research for a dental clinic website in Austin”
  • “What should I rank for if I sell handmade candles?”
  • “Build a keyword plan for my SaaS onboarding content”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Keyword Research PlannerInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    keyword-research.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip keyword-research.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip keyword-research.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give a specific seed phrase plus your site URL so the agent can both expand ideas and check existing rankings
  • Ask for CPC in the output if you plan to reuse the list as a negative-keyword source for paid ads
  • Verify high-stakes volume numbers in Google Keyword Planner directly, since the skill relies on a third-party connector
