What it does

Once installed, the agent builds professional documents such as resumes, one-pagers, white papers, letters, portfolios, slide decks and landing pages using Kami's built-in HTML templates, with serif fonts, warm paper-toned backgrounds and ink-blue accents. It picks the right template from your request, drafts content into a structured file, and renders it to PDF or a web page. It also includes diagram templates (flowcharts, charts, sequence and ER diagrams) for figures inside documents.

Great for

  • Job seekers who need a polished resume or CV in a consistent style
  • Founders or teams producing one-page briefs, proposals or white papers
  • Writers and designers who want print-ready PDFs or a simple landing page without design tools

Skip it if

  • Auditing or restyling an existing product website, which the skill explicitly excludes
  • Users who need an editable Word or Google Docs file as the main output, since the focus is HTML/PDF layout
  • Sensitive documents rendered on an online or shared machine, because the skill runs local scripts and may check for updates

Try asking

  • “Make a two-page resume in English from my notes, using the Kami resume template”
  • “Turn this outline into a one-page executive summary as a PDF”
  • “Create a slide deck from this research, with one point per slide”
  • “Build a landing page for my app using Kami's layout”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Kami Document TypesetterInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 15 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    kami.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip kami.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip kami.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Say the document type and length up front (for example one-pager, two-page resume) so the agent picks the right template without asking.
  • Name the language you want; Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean have dedicated templates.
  • Review the rendered page images before sharing, especially for Japanese or Korean output, which the skill notes needs a visual check.
