What it does
When asked to research a public company, the agent sets up a team-style workflow: four sub-agents run in parallel, each covering one area (business model and moat, financials and valuation, industry and competition, risks and management), then the main agent combines their findings into a long report with bull and bear cases, a checklist and an investment recommendation. It is designed to cite sources and to run numeric checks with bundled Python tools instead of mental arithmetic.
Great for
- Investors or analysts who want a structured first-pass research memo on a listed company
- Students learning a value-investing framework applied to a real company
- Users who already have the ai-berkshire repository checked out and can run its tools
Skip it if
- Making actual buy or sell decisions: the output is AI-generated and may contain stale or unverified data, so it should not replace professional advice
- Companies with thin public information, where the skill's own guidance says results will be low confidence
- Users without web search enabled: the skill itself warns that sub-agents without search will fall back to training knowledge and produce misleading reports
Try asking
- “Research Apple's business model, moat and valuation and produce the full investment team report”
- “Run an investment team analysis on a Hong Kong listed company and check its financial data against two sources”
- “Assess the risks and management quality of a Chinese internet company”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Check that web search is allowed in your permissions before starting, as the skill instructs, otherwise research quality silently drops
- Ask for a specific company and market (for example, a ticker and exchange) so the agents collect the right filings
- Treat the scores and buy price ranges as a starting point and verify key numbers against the cited sources yourself
