What it does
Once installed, the agent can take your customer research (survey responses, interview notes, sales win/loss data, usage analytics) and turn it into a structured Ideal Customer Profile. The profile covers who the best customers are (company size, industry, role), how they buy and adopt products, what jobs they are trying to get done, and which pain points matter most, plus go-to-market implications and who is not a good fit. It is a text-based analysis method, not a software tool.
Great for
- Product managers and founders defining who their product is for after getting product-market fit survey results
- Marketing and sales teams deciding where to focus outreach and prioritizing leads
- Anyone who has customer data but has not yet turned it into a clear target customer description
Skip it if
- Teams with no customer data yet, because the output depends on research input and would otherwise be guesswork (use customer interviews first)
- Making decisions that affect individuals, such as screening people by demographics, since the skill is aimed at company-level targeting and this use could raise fairness or privacy concerns
Try asking
- “Use the ideal-customer-profile skill on this PMF survey export and tell me who our most successful customers are”
- “Build an ICP from these 15 customer interview transcripts, including jobs to be done and top pain points”
- “Analyze our churn and expansion data to identify the segment we should prioritize in sales”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Provide real data (survey results, transcripts, CRM exports) via the input arguments rather than asking for a profile from memory, since the framework is only as good as the evidence.
- Include both quantitative metrics (retention, LTV, deal size) and qualitative quotes so the agent can cross-check patterns.
- Treat the output as a hypothesis to validate with more customers and revisit it periodically, as the skill itself recommends.
