What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to look for specific five-point price shapes (Gartley, Bat, Butterfly, Crab) in market price data, using Fibonacci ratios to define them. When such a shape completes near its end point, called the PRZ (Potential Reversal Zone), the agent can produce a simple signal: 1 for long, -1 for short, or 0 to stand aside. It also includes a bundled example script that performs this detection and can use the optional pyharmonics library if installed.
Great for
- Traders or analysts who already use Fibonacci harmonic pattern theory and want automated detection
- Developers building a backtesting or screening prototype around chart patterns
- Students learning how harmonic pattern rules are coded
Skip it if
- Anyone expecting reliable trading profits: the skill presents pattern-based reversal signals without any evidence of predictive accuracy, and markets can move against them; acting on these signals with real money carries real loss risk
- People who want financial advice; the output is a mechanical pattern match, not a recommendation
- Use on live trading accounts without review, since the bundled script's signal logic and parameters have not been validated in the files provided
Try asking
- “Scan this BTC daily price CSV for Gartley or Bat patterns and list any bullish PRZ signals”
- “Explain the difference between a Butterfly and a Crab pattern using the ratios in this skill”
- “Run the harmonic signal engine on my stock data with is_stock set to true and summarize the signals”
- “Write a backtest that uses the harmonic signal convention (1, -1, 0) on historical OHLC data”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent clean OHLC price data with a consistent timeframe so swing detection is meaningful
- Ask the agent to report swing_window confirmation bars so you see signals only after the pattern is confirmed
- Treat outputs as hypotheses to backtest and validate, not as trade instructions
