What it does

When a Claude session gets long, confused, or stuck retrying the same fix, this skill makes Claude write a structured HANDOFF.md file in the project folder. The file records the goal, what works and what is broken, which files matter, which approaches failed and why, the current best theory, and ordered next steps. You then start a new session and tell it to read that file, so it can pick up cleanly without the cluttered history. If claude-mem is installed, the skill also points the new session to saved memory records.

  • Ask for the handoff before the session degrades, since the quality depends on the full conversation arc still being in context
