What it does
When you ask the agent to open a pull request, this skill tells it to check your branch, read the commits and code changes against main, classify the change (fix, feature, refactor, and so on), and write a structured description covering summary, context, changes, testing steps and links. The skill is mainly a set of instructions and a template for the description; it describes using the GitHub CLI to create the PR.
Great for
- Developers who want consistent, reviewer-friendly PR descriptions without writing them from scratch
- Teams that use a standard PR template with summary, context, changes and testing sections
- Solo maintainers preparing changes for review on a GitHub repository
Skip it if
- Repositories not hosted on GitHub or without the GitHub CLI installed, since the skill depends on it
- Branches whose main branch is not named origin/main or master, because the git commands assume that name; the agent may need adjusting
- Changes where the diff contains sensitive material that should not be sent to a remote service, since the agent reads the full diff
Try asking
- “Create a PR for my current branch with a good description”
- “Generate a PR description for these commits and tell me how to test it”
- “Make a pull request for my changes and submit them for review”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Make sure your commits are meaningful, since the description is built largely from commit messages and the diff.
- Review the generated description before submission, especially the Links and Testing sections, which the agent may fill in inaccurately.
- Ask for a specific change type or extra context if the automatic classification is wrong.
