What it does

Once installed, the agent runs a periodic, repository-wide review of qwen-code looking for accumulated surplus: dead components and files, orphaned locale keys, exports nothing uses, and scaffolding that was added then removed. It does not delete anything on its own. It posts candidates as a comment on a tracking issue, names every consumer of each candidate, and only opens a single pull request for a candidate a maintainer has explicitly approved. The skill is written as two phase documents (survey and land) that the agent must read before acting.

Great for

  • Maintainers of qwen-code who want a periodic cleanup sweep with evidence attached to each proposal
  • Contributors who want to propose dead-code removals without making unrequested batch deletions
  • Teams adapting the same evidence-first approach to a large monorepo with published packages

Skip it if

  • Tidying code you just wrote, because the bundled /simplify skill covers that diff-based case
  • Finding bugs or defects, because /review and /repo-hygiene cover those; this skill intentionally excludes defect fixes
  • Anyone outside the qwen-code repository, since the territory rules and file paths are specific to that codebase and its publish workflow

Try asking

  • “Run a repo-wide simplification survey of qwen-code and file the candidates on the tracking issue”
  • “Land the one candidate a maintainer approved as a single pull request”
  • “Check whether an unused export in packages/core/src is reachable from published packages before proposing its removal”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Find SimplificationsInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    find-simplifications.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip find-simplifications.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip find-simplifications.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Run the survey phase first and review the candidates on the tracking issue before asking for any PR to be opened
  • Approve one candidate at a time, since the skill is designed to land exactly one candidate per pull request
  • Read the territory table in SKILL.md before approving removals in vendor, web-shell, or published package paths
