What it does
Once installed, the agent acts as a requirements analyst before any code is written. It interviews you from both a product-manager and a developer angle, asking structured questions about users, goals, security and edge cases, then writes a formal specification with requirements in a standard 'When... the system shall...' style, testable Given/When/Then acceptance criteria, error-handling notes and an implementation checklist. It saves the result as a spec file.
Great for
- Product managers or leads who need a written spec for a new feature before engineering starts
- Developers who want requirements pinned down, including edge cases and non-functional needs, before building
- Teams preparing PRDs, user stories or acceptance criteria in a consistent format
Skip it if
- Quick one-line bug fixes or small tweaks where a full interview would be overkill
- Situations where the requirements are already settled and only code needs writing
- Anyone expecting a finished spec without answering questions: the skill requires an interview first and will ask for clarification on vague input
Try asking
- “Help me write a spec for adding two-factor login to our app, with user stories and acceptance criteria”
- “Run a requirements workshop for a new invoice export feature and save the spec as a file”
- “Turn my rough idea for a notifications system into EARS-format functional requirements and a TODO checklist”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give a clear one-paragraph description of the feature and its users before starting, so the interview can move faster.
- Answer the structured choices (priority, scope, user types) explicitly; they drive the rest of the spec.
- Review the acceptance criteria at the validation step and push back on any that are not testable.
