What it does

Once installed, the agent can turn a product or customer scenario into a structured customer journey map. It walks through stages from first awareness to advocacy, noting what the customer does, thinks, feels, where they get stuck, and how to improve each step. It can read files you provide, such as interview notes, survey results, or support tickets, and suggests prioritized fixes and a place to build a visual map in tools like Miro or FigJam.

Great for

  • Product managers preparing onboarding or retention improvements
  • Marketers who want to see the full path from awareness to recommendation
  • Students or teams learning how to structure customer experience analysis

Skip it if

  • Replacing real customer research: the map is built from the agent's reasoning and whatever files you supply, so it can reflect assumptions rather than verified behavior
  • Producing a finished visual diagram: the skill outputs a markdown analysis and suggests a separate tool for visuals

Try asking

  • “Create a customer journey map for our B2B invoicing app, focusing on onboarding friction”
  • “Using these interview transcripts, map the journey for a first-time buyer and list the top pain points”
  • “Identify where users are most likely to churn in our subscription product and suggest quick wins”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Customer Journey MapInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    customer-journey-map.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip customer-journey-map.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip customer-journey-map.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give a specific persona and goal, such as a job the customer is trying to get done, so the map is not generic
  • Attach real data like support tickets or interview notes so the emotions and pain points are grounded in evidence
  • Include a product URL if you want the agent to research the product via web search
