What it does

When installed, the agent walks a founder through a conversational interview covering seven areas: company identity, stage and scale, founder profile, team and culture, market and competition, current challenges, and goals. It then writes the answers to a company context file at ~/.claude/company-context.md, which other C-suite advisor skills read so their advice fits the company. A short /cs-onboard update command runs a roughly 15-minute quarterly refresh.

Great for

  • Founders or startup leaders setting up C-suite advisor skills for the first time
  • Teams who want advisor skills to share one consistent picture of the company
  • Founders who already use advisor skills and need to refresh stale company context after a fundraise or pivot

Skip it if

  • Users who do not want their business strategy, financials, runway and team details saved as a plain-text file on their computer, since the skill writes sensitive company information to ~/.claude/company-context.md
  • Anyone expecting a one-off advisory answer without a 45-minute interview, since setup is designed as a long conversation
  • Users outside the C-suite advisor family, because the context file is only useful to skills that read it

Try asking

  • “/cs-onboard setup”
  • “/cs-onboard update”
  • “Set up my C-suite advisors. I'm the founder of an early-stage B2B software company.”
  • “It's been three months since we did our company context. We just closed a seed round and changed our target market.”
Step-by-step guide: how to use C-Suite Founder OnboardingInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 3 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    cs-onboard.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip cs-onboard.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip cs-onboard.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Answer in your own words and be candid about weaknesses, since the interview is designed to probe blind spots and vague answers produce weaker advice later.
  • Block out about 45 minutes for setup and about 15 minutes for each quarterly update.
  • Review ~/.claude/company-context.md after the interview and remove anything sensitive you do not want stored on disk.
