What it does
When installed, the agent writes short, example-driven command reference pages in the tldr format, the style used by the tldr-pages project, where a single command gets a one-line description and a list of common usages. You give it a documentation URL and a command name; it reads the docs (by fetching the URL) and distills the most common usages into a tldr page with a link back to the official source. It refuses to proceed without both a URL and a command name, and if you pass help output instead, it summarizes that in tldr format rather than creating a new page.
Great for
- Developers who want to contribute a tldr page for a command-line tool
- Maintainers of internal CLI tools who need quick usage cheat sheets
- Students learning a new command-line tool who want a condensed reference
Skip it if
- Users who need full, authoritative manual content, since the output is a short summary that can omit details and must be checked against the source
- Anyone expecting the skill to verify that a documentation URL is accurate; it asks the agent to validate sources but the file gives no tooling for that
Try asking
- “/create-tldr-page #fetch https://git-scm.com/docs/git git”
- “/create-tldr-page #fetch https://www.gnu.org/software/tar/manual/tar.html tar”
- “/create-tldr-page https://some-tool.example/docs/manual.html some-tool”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Always provide both the official documentation URL and the exact command name, since the skill will not run without them.
- Paste help output (for example from --help) as extra text to give the agent more accurate examples.
- Review the generated page against the upstream docs before submitting it to tldr-pages, because the agent may misread or omit options.
