What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to fetch GitHub Copilot usage statistics for a GitHub organization or enterprise. When asked, the agent runs one of four small shell scripts that call GitHub's REST API through the GitHub CLI, then summarizes results such as active users, acceptance rate, suggestions and chat interactions, and can show per-user breakdowns in tables. It can also target a specific date.
Great for
- Engineering managers or admins who want to see how much their team uses Copilot
- Enterprise billing managers or owners tracking Copilot adoption across an enterprise
- Data-minded developers who want quick Copilot usage summaries without building their own API calls
Skip it if
- Users without GitHub Enterprise Cloud, since the endpoints it relies on require it and will not return data otherwise
- Anyone without admin, billing manager or appropriate token scopes, because the API will return 403 errors
- Personal GitHub accounts or individual Copilot subscribers, who cannot access organization-level usage data through this skill
Try asking
- “Show me Copilot usage metrics for the acme-corp organization yesterday”
- “Give me a per-user Copilot usage breakdown for our enterprise as a table”
- “Compare Copilot acceptance rates for org my-team across the last few days”
- “What is our enterprise-wide Copilot adoption for 2025-11-01?”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Specify the org or enterprise slug and whether you want aggregated or per-user data to avoid extra back-and-forth
- Ask for a specific day in YYYY-MM-DD format; metrics are available from October 10, 2025 and for up to one year back
- If you get a 403 error, check your gh token scopes and the enterprise Copilot metrics policy before retrying
