What it does
When you ask the agent to commit your work, this skill makes it review your changed files, then write a commit message in the Conventional Commits style (for example "feat(parser): add array support" or "fix(ui): correct button alignment"). The style uses a short type prefix, an optional scope, and an imperative summary, so the project history stays consistent and easy to scan. The skill's instructions say the agent will then run git commit itself in the terminal without asking for confirmation.
Great for
- Developers who want consistent, standards-based commit history without memorising the format
- Teams that follow the Conventional Commits specification and want agents to match it
- Solo developers who regularly commit from an agent-driven terminal session
Skip it if
- Projects that use a different commit convention, since the skill enforces Conventional Commits (the agent may not adapt on its own)
- Situations where you want to review every commit before it runs: the instructions say to commit without confirmation, which can record unintended changes if staging was wrong
- Repositories where commit history is governed by strict review rules that require human-written messages
Try asking
- “Look at my staged changes and write a conventional commit for them”
- “Commit the changes to the parser module as a feat with a sensible scope”
- “Summarise my diff and make a commit message with a breaking change footer if needed”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run git status and git diff yourself first, or ask the agent to, and confirm the right files are staged before the commit runs.
- Give the agent context about the change's purpose so the description and body are accurate rather than generic.
- If you want to review the message first, ask the agent to draft it only and run the git commit command yourself.
