What it does
Once installed, the agent reviews Python code the way a careful senior engineer would. It checks that the code does what the change describes, looks for common bugs such as off-by-one errors, unhandled None values and swallowed exceptions, confirms bug fixes include a test, and flags risky patterns like SQL built from strings, use of eval, or secrets left in code or logs. Findings are returned as a list ordered by severity, each pointing to the file and line.
Great for
- Developers who want a consistent first-pass review of Python pull requests before a human reviews them
- Teams that want review feedback to follow the same checklist every time
Skip it if
- Non-Python codebases, since the skill only describes Python-focused checks (reason: its rules would miss language-specific issues elsewhere)
- Security-critical sign-off, since it is a checklist prompt and not a security scanner or audit (reason: it can miss vulnerabilities and gives no guarantee)
Try asking
- “Review this Python pull request for bugs and missing tests”
- “Check my diff for security issues like SQL injection or eval use”
- “Look over this bug fix and tell me whether it has a test that would fail without the fix”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Paste or point the agent to the diff or files you want reviewed, and say which PR or goal the change is meant to achieve so the correctness check has context.
- Treat the output as a first pass; ask the agent to explain any finding it marks as severe before acting on it.
- The skill refers to 'the team's standards' but includes only these three rules, so add your own conventions in your request if you need more.
