What it does
Once installed, the agent can design monitoring alerts for Google Cloud Run, Google's service for running containers. It writes Terraform configuration (infrastructure-as-code files) that creates Cloud Monitoring alert policies using PromQL queries, covering error rates, latency, instance saturation, CPU and memory use, billable time, job failures and worker pool backlog. It applies built-in default thresholds from SRE practice and explains in plain English what each alert means and can be tuned.
Great for
- Platform or SRE engineers setting up baseline alerting for Cloud Run services, jobs or worker pools
- Teams that manage monitoring as Terraform and want a starting set of alert policies
- Developers who want a reviewed starting point for thresholds they can then adjust
Skip it if
- GKE or Compute Engine workloads, which the skill says to route to other skills, so results would be wrong for them
- Teams expecting alerts tuned to their real traffic; default thresholds are generic and need validation before production use
Try asking
- “Create Terraform alerts for my Cloud Run service named checkout-api for 5xx errors and p99 latency”
- “Write alert policies for my nightly Cloud Run job reconciliation-job that fire on execution failure”
- “Set up backlog and message age alerts for my worker pool order-processor”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Name the exact Cloud Run service, job or worker pool in your request so the agent skips file and CLI discovery.
- Review the default thresholds it states and override them via Terraform variables to match your SLOs before applying.
- Provide your notification channel IDs as a variable so alerts reach the right people.
