What it does
When installed, the agent walks a brand-new developer through getting started on Google Cloud: checking that the gcloud command-line tool is installed, logging in, confirming the account is a personal one rather than a corporate organization, picking or creating a project, linking billing, and verifying a first deployment. It asks one question at a time and checks the current state before making any changes. If the account looks like an enterprise Google Workspace setup, it stops and points the user to Google's enterprise setup flow instead.
Great for
- Individual developers signing up for Google Cloud for the first time
- Students or hobbyists using a personal Google account and the free trial
- Teams wanting a consistent, step-by-step first-run checklist for gcloud
Skip it if
- Enterprise or organization-wide setup, since the skill halts and redirects to Google's guided enterprise flow (the org structure needs a different process)
- Complex multi-project architectures, which the skill explicitly says it does not cover
- Users who want unattended changes to billing without reviewing each step, since it is designed to ask for confirmation
Try asking
- “I want to get started with Google Cloud and deploy my first app”
- “Help me set up gcloud on my laptop and log in”
- “Create a new project for my side project and link billing”
- “Show me the dry-run commands for onboarding before you run anything”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run it from a terminal where gcloud is installed, or let the agent install it first using the linked gcloud skill.
- Review each command before confirming, especially anything that creates projects or links billing.
- If you are in a company, use your organization's guided setup rather than this personal path.
