What it does
Once installed, the agent sends Google Cloud (GCP) requests such as how-to questions, Terraform or Kubernetes generation and review, rollouts, incidents and cost checks to a separate Cloud Operator agent through an MCP server called autocloud, instead of answering from memory. It also tracks which GCP project and operator agent to use across a conversation, and writes returned code files into your workspace. The skill requires a Google Cloud project with a Cloud Operator agent set up.
Great for
- Engineers who already run Google Cloud projects and want an agent to plan or review infrastructure changes
- Teams using Terraform or Kubernetes on GCP who want generated or reviewed manifests
- People who want cost or incident help grounded in their live GCP project
Skip it if
- Non-GCP clouds or general tasks, which the skill explicitly excludes
- Local machine setup such as installing gcloud, which the skill says to leave out of scope
- Anyone who cannot share local config or code with a Google-hosted service, since file contents and project details are sent to the operator; secrets are supposed to be redacted but this depends on the agent following the rules
Try asking
- “Review my main.tf for this GCP project and show me a diff of the fixes”
- “Why is my GKE deployment crash-looping? Here is the error log.”
- “Design a private VPC with Cloud SQL for a small web app in project acme-ops”
- “Estimate what changed in my GCP spend this month and why”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip cloud-operator.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip cloud-operator.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Name the GCP project up front so the agent does not have to guess which one to use
- Expect first calls to take 1 to 3 minutes and long operations up to 20 minutes; let the agent wait rather than cancel
- Check the diffs the agent shows before letting it apply changes to your files
