What it does
This skill turns an AI assistant into a deal-closing tracker for in-house or transactional legal teams. It keeps a structured checklist of conditions, closing deliverables and covenants drawn from a purchase agreement, and it can add new items that surface from diligence findings or deal summaries. When asked what is left to close, it lists blocking items, the critical path and days remaining, and it can record status updates against a specific item ID.
Great for
- In-house or deal counsel running a multi-party M&A closing who want a living checklist
- Legal ops staff tracking consents, regulatory filings and closing deliverables across a deal team
- Teams already using the related Claude for Legal diligence and contract-schedule skills that feed items into this checklist
Skip it if
- Anyone without an existing Claude for Legal setup, since the skill expects specific folders, a YAML file and sibling skills to exist; it will not work standalone
- Use as a source of legal advice on regulatory timing or MAC triggers: the skill itself says these must be researched and verified against current primary sources, and the file alone does not do that
Try asking
- “What's left to close on Project Falcon?”
- “Mark CP-002 as consent received from Acme, signed 2026-04-02”
- “Add the Dunmore replacement guaranty condition to the checklist”
- “Give me the blocking items and days to close for the deal”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Initialise the checklist from the signed or near-final purchase agreement so every item carries a source cite to a section
- Give each update as item ID plus new status, for example CP-001 with status text, so the right entry changes
- Review regulatory and MAC items yourself; the skill tells the agent to research current law, but the checklist is only as accurate as the sources checked
