What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to work with 3MF files, the standard format for 3D printing models used by slicers such as BambuStudio and PrusaSlicer. Once installed, the agent can report a model's size and mesh health, find cylindrical holes and resize them to a target diameter (for example to fit a printed peg), repair common mesh errors, and compare two versions of a file. It runs a command-line tool called cli-anything-3mf to do this work.
Great for
- Makers who want to adjust hole sizes in a 3MF file for a press-fit or bolt tolerance without opening a CAD program
- People checking whether a model is watertight (printable) before slicing
- Developers building automated 3D printing pipelines that process 3MF files
Skip it if
- Designing new parts from scratch; the skill edits existing geometry only, not parametric CAD
- Safety-critical or load-bearing parts where a changed hole size is not verified; the tool's detection is approximate and output should be checked before printing
- Users who expect a guaranteed-correct result without reviewing the output file, since automated geometry edits can silently produce wrong dimensions
Try asking
- “Inspect model.3mf and tell me which cylindrical holes it has and their diameters”
- “Resize holes 0 and 1 in bracket.3mf to 4.2 mm and save as bracket_fixed.3mf”
- “Repair mesh errors in print_ready.3mf and save a cleaned copy”
- “Compare v1.3mf and v2.3mf and summarise what geometry changed”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip cli-anything-threemf.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip cli-anything-threemf.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run inspect first to confirm hole indices and diameters before resizing
- Always write to a new file with -o and keep the original for comparison
- Open the result in your slicer and check dimensions before printing
