What it does

When you ask a question such as whether to adopt an external tool, how to judge a document, or which of several approaches to pick, this skill makes the agent check the answer against your project's own code, docs, and past decisions before giving a clear recommendation. It can also ask other AI models for independent opinions and reconcile them, and it is designed to report uncertainty and the conditions that would change the answer rather than just sounding confident.

Great for

  • Developers deciding whether to adopt an outside library, service, or pattern in an existing project
  • Teams wanting a second opinion on a design document or proposal grounded in their own repository
  • Anyone who wants a multi-model cross-check of a decision before committing to it

Skip it if

  • Simply explaining how existing code works (use ce-explain instead; this skill forms judgments, not explanations)
  • Generating competing solutions or brainstorming options (other skills cover that, per the file's own pointers)
  • Non-git projects with no ADRs or design docs, where the prior-decision scan has little to draw on and confidence will be lower

Try asking

  • “Should we adopt this external authentication library in our project? Give me a verdict grounded in our codebase.”
  • “Give me your overall take on this design document and whether it holds up against our constraints.”
  • “Compare these three approaches for caching and tell me which one fits our project, cross-checked with other models.”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 15 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    ce-pov.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip ce-pov.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip ce-pov.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Name the decision and its context clearly; the skill will not interview you, and missing context may return a blocked result.
  • Ask explicitly for a panel or cross-check if you want other models consulted; otherwise it runs without them.
  • Read the stated uncertainty and conditions in the verdict before acting on it.
