What it does

This skill turns the agent into a router for internal business operations work. When you ask about bottlenecks, vendor SLAs, headcount planning, all-hands messaging, SOP writing, or software spend, it picks one of six specialist sub-skills (process mapping, vendor management, capacity planning, internal comms, knowledge ops, procurement optimization) and returns a short summary. It is designed to ask one clarifying question when a request is ambiguous, and to pose challenge questions grounded in management literature such as Goldratt and Little's Law.

Great for

  • Operations managers or COOs who want structured help diagnosing internal process or vendor issues
  • Teams writing SOPs, runbooks, or internal announcements who want a guided workflow
  • People reviewing SaaS or procurement spend who want a consistent analysis pattern

Skip it if

  • External sales or growth strategy, which the file itself says belongs to a different skill (business-growth)
  • Legal, contract, or compliance decisions, since the file only provides operational analysis and no legal review; a qualified professional should check vendor contracts
  • Anyone expecting the six sub-skills to be fully contained in this file: only SKILL.md was provided, so their behaviour and any reference documents could not be verified

Try asking

  • “Where's the bottleneck in our order fulfilment process? Help me map it.”
  • “Is our main logistics vendor delivering against its SLA this quarter?”
  • “Do we have enough headcount to ship the Q3 roadmap?”
  • “Why did our software spend rise 40% year over year? Help me audit it.”

    business-operations-skills.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip business-operations-skills.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip business-operations-skills.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the agent concrete inputs such as CSV exports, process timings, or vendor contract files so it can route without asking questions.
  • Answer the one clarifying question directly; the skill is designed to wait for your confirmation before running a second lane.
  • Treat the digest and the challenge questions as prompts for discussion, and verify any cited figures or frameworks before using them in decisions.
