What it does

Once installed, the agent answers feature-planning requests by acting like a senior engineer: it reads a feature product requirements document and produces a structured Markdown plan covering goals, requirements, folder layout (apps, services, packages), architecture and database diagrams in Mermaid, API design, frontend component structure built on shadcn/ui, and security and performance notes. The skill is a text prompt only; it contains no scripts and does not run code or fetch anything itself.

Great for

  • Engineers at teams using a monorepo layout similar to Epoch's who want a first-draft implementation plan from a PRD
  • Tech leads who want a consistent plan template covering architecture, data model, API and frontend
  • Developers using the Stack Auth, tRPC, Zustand or React Query stack named in the template

Skip it if

  • Teams with different stacks or repo structures: the template assumes Epoch's monorepo conventions and specific libraries, so sections will need adapting
  • Anyone expecting a verified plan: the output is generated text that can contain wrong assumptions and must be reviewed by engineers before use

Try asking

  • “Create an implementation plan for this feature PRD: [paste PRD], following our monorepo structure”
  • “Draft the database schema and API design for a recipe import feature from this spec”
  • “Write a frontend component hierarchy and state flow for a search-and-filter page”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Feature Implementation PlannerInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    breakdown-feature-implementation.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip breakdown-feature-implementation.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip breakdown-feature-implementation.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Paste the full Feature PRD into the request, since the template expects it as context
  • Ask for the plan to be saved to the docs path the template names, or change that path to match your repository
  • Review the Mermaid diagrams and technology choices against your real codebase before acting on them
