What it does
When you give the agent a new product concept, this skill makes it run a structured brainstorm: it confirms the target market and goals, then proposes five feature ideas each from a product manager, a product designer and a software engineer perspective. It then ranks the best five by core value, how fast they can be tested, and differentiation, and lists the key assumptions to test for each. Results can be saved as a markdown document.
Great for
- Founders or product managers at the very start of exploring a startup idea
- Teams running initial ideation before committing to build anything
- Students or new PMs learning how to structure feature brainstorming
Skip it if
- Continuous discovery on a live product, since the skill is explicitly scoped to initial discovery (wrong framing for that work)
- Validated decisions: the output is generated ideas and assumptions, not market research, so it should not replace real customer interviews or data
Try asking
- “Brainstorm feature ideas for a startup that helps freelancers track invoices”
- “Use the new-product discovery brainstorm for a meal-planning app aimed at busy parents”
- “Generate PM, designer and engineer feature ideas for a local marketplace concept and rank the top five”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Describe the target segment, the problem being solved and desired outcomes in detail, since the skill relies on them.
- Attach market research or competitor notes as files so the agent can read them first.
- Ask for the output to be saved as a markdown document so the assumptions can be reviewed and tested later.
