What it does

When you ask the agent to validate a new product idea, it writes a measurable hypothesis in the form 'at least X% of Y will do Z' and proposes two or three cheap tests, such as a landing page, explainer video, email campaign, pre-order or waitlist, or a manual concierge service. For each test it specifies the hypothesis, method, metric and success threshold. It follows lean startup principles from Alberto Savoia, focusing on real behaviour and commitment rather than opinions. It can read any files you provide, such as market research or mockups, before answering.

Great for

  • Founders or product managers who want to test demand before building anything
  • Students or teams learning lean startup and pretotyping methods
  • Anyone who needs a structured experiment plan to present to stakeholders

Skip it if

  • Ideas that already have solid sales or usage data, since the framework is aimed at unvalidated new concepts
  • Regulated or high-stakes launches where a fake landing page or pre-order could mislead customers or raise legal issues; check with counsel first
  • Expecting the skill to supply real market numbers: its success thresholds and percentages are suggestions the agent makes, not researched benchmarks

Try asking

  • “Validate a new idea for a subscription app for home gardeners and suggest experiments”
  • “Create an XYZ hypothesis for a B2B invoicing tool aimed at freelance designers”
  • “Design pretotype tests, including a landing page and pre-order, for a plant-based snack startup”
  • “Read my market research notes and propose three low-effort experiments to test demand”

    brainstorm-experiments-new.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip brainstorm-experiments-new.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip brainstorm-experiments-new.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the agent specifics about your target customer and the exact action you want them to take, so the hypothesis is testable.
  • Ask for success thresholds grounded in your own context, and treat the agent's suggested percentages as starting points to challenge.
  • Attach any existing research or mockup files so the experiments build on what you already know.
