What it does

When you ask your AI agent to run a board meeting, it simulates a team of executive roles (CEO, CFO, CTO, CMO and others) who each give an independent view on a strategic question, without seeing each other's answers first. A critic role then challenges the group for suspicious agreement and missing voices, and the agent presents a synthesis for you to approve, modify or reject. Approved decisions are saved to local files so later meetings can build on them.

Great for

  • Founders or small-business owners who want a structured stress test of a strategic decision such as market expansion or pricing
  • People who want multiple perspectives on a question without assembling a real team
  • Teams already using the claude-skills C-level agent set who want to keep a record of decisions

Skip it if

  • High-stakes legal, financial or medical decisions, because the output is simulated role-play by an AI and not professional advice from a real lawyer, accountant or doctor
  • Situations where you need real stakeholder input, since the 'customer voice' and 'front-line ops' perspectives are only what the model imagines
  • Users who do not want the agent writing files to their home folder (~/.claude/decisions/), since approved decisions and transcripts are saved there

Try asking

  • “/c-level-agents:boardroom Should we expand to Spain in Q3?”
  • “/c-level-agents:boardroom Should we change our pricing from per-seat to usage-based?”
  • “/c-level-agents:boardroom resume”
  • “Run a board meeting on whether to hire a VP of Engineering this quarter”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Board Meeting ProtocolInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 4 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    board-meeting.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip board-meeting.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip board-meeting.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Put your company background in ~/.claude/company-context.md first, otherwise the roles have little real context to work from
  • Treat the output as a structured brainstorm to challenge your own thinking, and check the 'What would change my mind' lines against real data
  • Review the Layer 2 decision records before approving, since future meetings will treat them as established facts
