What it does

When this skill is installed, the agent lays out a long article (600+ words) as a polished, magazine-style web page instead of plain text. It adds a masthead with the publication name and date, a large headline with subtitle, author byline and reading time, a single readable column, figures with italic captions, large serif pull quotes, an author bio card, and three related-post cards. The included example.html shows the intended look.

Great for

  • Writers or marketers who want a long essay or case study published as a polished web page
  • Teams producing company blog posts or brand storytelling pages
  • Designers who want a reference editorial layout to adapt

Skip it if

  • Short social posts or quick notes, since the skill is designed for articles of 600+ words and adds a lot of page structure
  • Anyone needing a document for print or office formats such as Word or PDF, because it produces web-style HTML layout guidance only

Try asking

  • “Turn this 1,000-word draft into a magazine-style blog post with a pull quote and figures”
  • “Write a case study about our customer onboarding and lay it out as a long-form article”
  • “Create a blog post page with an author bio and three related-post cards”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Blog Post LayoutInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 2 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    blog-post.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip blog-post.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip blog-post.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the agent your author name, publication name and date so the masthead and byline are filled in correctly.
  • Provide at least 600 words of content, since shorter text will not suit this layout.
  • Ask for the example.html style explicitly if you want the exact look shown in the reference file.
