What it does
Once installed, the agent follows a step-by-step workflow to examine a specific Azure resource (such as a web app, database, VM, or storage account). It looks at the resource's status and metrics, runs queries against its logs and telemetry to find errors and patterns, sorts problems by severity, and writes a remediation plan with immediate, short-term, and longer-term actions. It is built around Azure's own MCP tools and falls back to the Azure CLI when needed.
Great for
- Engineers on call who need a structured first look at a misbehaving Azure resource
- Cloud teams that want consistent triage steps and a written plan after an incident
- Developers who know Azure but want help writing Log Analytics / KQL queries for diagnosis
Skip it if
- Users without an Azure subscription or access to the resource, since the workflow cannot run without it
- Situations needing a guaranteed root cause: the plan is only as good as the logs available and the agent's interpretation, so a human should verify before acting on fixes
- Production changes made directly from the plan without review, because remediation steps can affect live services
Try asking
- “Diagnose why my Azure web app 'orders-api' in resource group prod-rg is returning errors since yesterday”
- “Check the health of our Cosmos DB account and find throttling or partition issues from the last 7 days”
- “Review Application Insights failed requests for function app billing-fn and propose a remediation plan”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent the resource name plus resource group and subscription to avoid ambiguous matches
- Make sure diagnostic settings and Log Analytics are enabled on the resource, otherwise there will be little telemetry to analyse
- Treat the generated remediation plan as a draft and review every change with your team before applying it
