What it does
Once installed, the agent can query Microsoft's public Azure Retail Prices API to fetch current list prices for Azure services, such as virtual machines, storage, functions, or AI models, filtered by region, SKU, and price type. It then turns those numbers into monthly and annual cost estimates and comparison tables. It also includes reference notes for estimating Copilot Studio agent credit usage. No Azure account or login is needed for the lookups.
Great for
- Engineers sizing or comparing Azure costs before deploying a workload
- Architects comparing regions, reserved instance, and pay-as-you-go prices
- Teams estimating Copilot Studio agent credit consumption
Skip it if
- Exact billing for your own account: the skill uses public list prices, not your negotiated rates, discounts, or actual invoices, so treat results as estimates
- Situations needing guaranteed accuracy for financial commitments, since the skill's formulas and reference tables may lag behind Microsoft's published pricing
Try asking
- “How much does a D4s v5 virtual machine cost per month in West Europe?”
- “Compare Azure Cosmos DB consumption prices in East US and West Europe and give me a table”
- “Estimate Copilot Studio credit usage for an agent handling 5,000 conversations a month”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Name the exact service, region, and SKU if you know them; this produces far more accurate filters.
- Ask for savings plan or reservation prices explicitly, since they are separate price types.
- Double-check any estimate against the official Azure pricing calculator before making purchasing decisions.
